Collider Searches after the Higgs discovery

Room: #557 The discovery of the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in 2012 completed the particle roster predicted by the Standard Model, which could now be a consistent effective model all the way up to the Planck scale. Meanwhile, challenges remain for the fundamental physics, when we don’t know the origin of Dark Matter, Matter anti-matter asymmetry in the universe, the large mass hierarchy among the SM fermions, etc. The Higgs or the scalar sector, now being pinned down at the LHC, become a likely portal to new physics and a probe we can utilize. This requires us to study collider kinematics in order to better probe and understand various new physics scenarios and motivations. In the talk, I will discuss several of the novel channels we explore recently: Off-shell Higgs at the high mass tail may shed light on the underlying mechanism of the electroweak symmetry breaking, challenging Higgs reconstruction at the hadron collider may reveal deviation in the Higgs Yukawa couplings to the light fermions, lepton collider offers unique advantage and insights on the Higgs measurement, dark matter collider search and even precision study.
